Johnny Steps was seen in episode 25 of Yugioh the Abridged, first seen playing DDR, and then challenging Tea to a DDR Match, but despite Johnny Steps' efforts to beat Tea, Johnny Steps slipped and fell down, losing the DDR Match. In the end, Johnny Steps appears wanting Tea to go on a date with Johnny Steps, and Yami says that Tea will sing Disney songs and birds will randomly attack Johnny. Johnny is then seen battling Yami, but of course, Johnny Steps gives up after discovering that Yami's real name is Yugi, which makes Tea angry for not only that, but for assulting Tea in DDR, and Tea tells Johnny Steps the biggest speech about friendship ever, in which at the end of the speech, Johnny Steps gets brainwashed, and Johnny Steps decides to go and make friends.
